The story of gülsha starts with Rosa Damascena, the delicate type that is indigenous to Isparta region in south west Turkey. Since 1965, the family of Ms. Gü lşah Gü rkan has been involved with the rose, supplying world famous cosmetics brands with raw materials of rose oil, rose concrete, and rose absolute. Ms. Gü lşah Gü rkan decided to translate this deep knowledge of the rose’s unique benefits into a series of exclusive skincare products.
Collaborating with the very best French skincare experts, she worked on unique formulations from scratch that marry tried and tested methods of science.
Isparta has been home to Rosa Damascena since 1889. The 130 year old hand pick harvest tradition is still practiced. Rosa Damascena blossoms during the month of May. Renowned for its fine and fresh fragrance, it has a bushy form with numerous stems and 3 to 9 blossoms on each thorny stem. The flowers are pink and each flower has about 32 petals.
